Check your credit rating? You don't. Lenders won't give it to you. This is an internal information that is kept confidential. Another reason why you cannot check your credit rating is simply because every lender would have a different rating for you.
One of the misconceptions is that the personal credit rating report can be obtained from a credit rating agency... and that's because people think of it as a credit score... that it isn't... (But, of course, you can check your credit score with credit bureaus.)
Who defines your credit rating?
They are assigned to you by your lender and not by credit agencies! The credit agencies do not maintain your credit ratings... but instead the lenders calculate and check your credit ratings every time you apply for a loan.
Different lenders may be using slightly different methods to calculate your credit rating, and so your overall credit rating score can be some-what different from lender to lender.
Where lenders get information to perform the check?
Lenders get you credit report and your credit score from the agencies. And your current financial information is provided by you and is verified with your employer. Lenders then combine your information with theirs and define your credit rating. Look up credit rating for a complete explanation.
Please note: You cannot check your credit rating but despite that ... you can repair your credit rating!
